Church is the Place for ME to BE

Growing up my family went to church occasionally and always on Christmas and Easter Sunday. I was taught to pray and be thankful. As a teen, I visited my friend's church and accepted the Lord as my Savior.

Once we got married, we visited several churches looking for the one. We would take breaks from our search, but God was always in our life. A friend of mine invited us to visit their church. We went to their service for the first time on Easter Sunday. It only took one service to know this was the church for us. We dove into the activities the church offered. It was all very exciting.

The Boss volunteers in the audio/visual department and my Monkey attends the kid service each week. We also joined a community group. They were so welcoming and now are an essential part of our lives. We reflect on the message from the service and we share about it. I have learned so much. The #1 thing I have learned (again) is that God wants to hear from us from all the things in our life. He wants us to talk to him from the smallest things to the most troubling stuff in our lives. I remember thanking God for the wonderful clouds or the rain and felt cheesy and now I thank him for the little things in life too all the time and rejoice with him.

The message moves me and I carry it with me all week. God lives within me and I feel his love in my soul. I love the music in our church too. It gets me grooving and I praise the Lord for all his blessings. I reflect on my life and thank the Lord for this body and my family.

My spiritual life has grown since going to our church. We joined a community group where we feel comfortable and loved. I love how we reflect on the message from church and hear interpretations from around the room. We pray for each other through out the week. We lean on each other and know each family is just a prayer away. I have trust in our group.

Going to church has helped me have God more present in my life. I feel like I always had faith, now I feel him live within me and his glorious love for me. He gives me the strength I need every day. I feel revived!

Church is the place for me to be.
