You know that moment when you plan ahead, go to Walmart to beat the rush before Christmas then it happens you have to go back. A ice storm was coming and I had to get a few more groceries in case I could not get out. For that reason, I grabbed the huge bag of cheese. You know the one that cost $6. I thought I can't be without cheese. I can, but my boys cannot. I cringed at paying $6.
So I pass the first nine lines to find just another long line. So I gave into a 20 foot long line. I survived it with the 10% battery life I had left on my phone. It'll be alright because I saw the face of my fave cashier so at least there's someone nice at the end of this wait.
A man behind me had only two items. Only two items! I offered him to go in front of me. He said "no, thanks". I said "No, really I want you to". So then he did. When someone lets me in front of them, it's always so nice so I like to do that. More people should do that on the road, but some people are road bullies. OK, that's another conversation.
So I noticed that when he was checking out the cashier was smiling extra big and giggled and looked at me. I thought that was odd, but in five seconds I found out why. She starts to scan my items, I say "That's my stuff". She says "He going to buy your groceries." Oh, what a surprise. I thanked him and told him how generous of him. He said "Now go do something for someone else." I said "I do." "It's one of my passions." He responded "Good, there should be more of that in the world."
I was shaking the whole time because it was such a blessing and so kind of him. I no longer felt guilty for buying a $6 bag of cheese.
How has someone blessed you recently?
