No Baking Goodness in my Kitchen

I'm missing cookies, cupcakes and all the baking goodness I do every year. The Christmas season is a time of the year where I bake so much goodies I line up one of my counters with a buffet of sweets. I am fighting every day to get healthier. I have lost 38 lbs. and sweets will not end my battle. Sure I could bake and eat in moderation, but I am not in a place where I believe I have the strength to do that. I mean I can't imagine have a Ziploc bag of cookies and eat one every time I pass by the kitchen as if they don't count. As if!

Wait.... Why did we ever stop saying "As if!"?

I stopped in my tracks recently when I thought why should I take away this tradition from my son. Should our tradition change because I'm eating healthier? I asked my son to pick one baked goodie. He asked for Gingerbread cookies. The funny thing is that I have never baked that in the past. So I think I was the only one concerned about this.

Our family has several great traditions in December and I am happy none of them revolve around food. Looks like this problem I had was in my head. This has happened before.
